    Scolling Table with Filter

Ok - So admittedly I'm an excel novice and a bit out of my depth here, but hopefully someone can help.

Currently, I've a data set which I've managed to put into a new scrolling table using a =OFFSET function I'd seen elsewhere. This data falls into 5 'clusters' or groups. I now want to be able to add a filter option to this scrolling table, so that the user can define which cluster to view.

    Any ideas?

    Regards

    Mark

    Hi,

Wouldn't you be better off just using an Autofilter and selecting the group or cluster you want to view. I don't see any need for a formula given your description.

    Re: Scolling Table with Filter

    Thanks for the reply Richard!

The original data set is table formatted and does have Autofilter options within the headings. This allowS me to filter by cluster or group.

However, (I should have mentioned) I'm trying to display the information in a compact dashboard style view. So even when filtered, visually there are still a lot of rows to scroll down through. So I wanted to use a scrolling table to condense it visually...if this makes sense???

So essentially a Picklist to choose which cluster to display in a scrolling table.

    Any suggestions much appreciated.

    Regards

    Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean. A drop down filter is essentially a 'PickList'.

Stating the obvious if there are 100 rows of records for one group or cluster they will disappear off the screen when you scroll down. So I'm not clear what you mean by 'condense it visually'. I'm assuming of course you have frozen the panes. Perhaps you mean to extract a subset of the records to another sheet?
