Sum from Multiple Criteria

Hi. I'm trying to obtain budget sums from column B and headcount sums from column C for several specific cost centers that are listed in column A. I've attached a simplified example of the worksheet I'm using.

I tried using SUMIFS formulas, but they don't seem to be working. I think the problem may have to do with the fact that the multiple cost center criteria I'm referencing are contained in brackets in a single cell. Is there a way to do a SUMIFS using multiple criteria in brackets?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
