I want to link a chart to another excel document, but the one I want to link it to is a master doc that I really do not want to alter. Is it possible for any changes in the linked chart to affect the master document it is linked to in any way?

No, the linkage would only work in one direction.

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires
