    File not supported in MAC!!!!

    Hi Guys.
I have a problem here in format compatibility in Mac Version 2011...
I make a report in Excel 2013 Windows with some very small and normal macros enabled and save it as .XLSB OR .XLSM... My Boss has Mac 2011 .. and he is not able to open it any time.. it says the file is damaged or wont open..
Is there any way that i can save my workbook in a specific format so that it works smooth in MAc version too??
    It there any solution please???
    I don't wanna get Fired!!

don't use mac myself but use this resource to fix compatibility issues
    http://www.rondebruin.nl/mac.htm

highly doubt your boss fires you for this......which a system issue which is a MAC issue
Don't know laws in Nepal but there should be some sort of unfair dismissal if they do

Re: File not supported in MAC!!!!

Thanks!! Was just kidding about the firing thing .. LOL
I googled and found out that the Active-X control was the problem as Mac could not open the file having active-X controls but have not send my file to Boss because want to be sure First of all...
I have 3-4 Active-X buttons which i replaced from Shapes( PNG Buttons) downloaded from google. Does Active-X controls just mean the excel plugin or any button i downloaded from google can be considered as Active-X.. have no idea on this...
    Thanks

not sure what you mean by plugins but the easiest way to fix that is to replace ActiveX buttons with form buttons

i believe add-ins...may or may not work...it depends on how it is coded
however not working with MAC i cannot say without a doubt

Re: File not supported in MAC!!!!

I use excel for Mac at home and have a macro enabled file I sent from work (PC) that I use often. It will work with an xlsm file, I'm not sure about the xlsb. Microsoft made a workable but poor imitation of their PC product that doesn't have all the functionality you see in regular excel. Mine is excel for Mac 2011 too.
