Transpose Entire Sheet?

Hello,

I inherited somebody else's spreadsheet, and it's fairly involved, calculating mean, SD, 95% CI, etc. for thousands of cells.

This workbook requires that I constantly write formulae like "SUM=XY4:DBV4" based on rows. But because of the data I'm working with, my life would be greatly simplified if I could transpose the entire sheet and sum based off of columns,- eg. "SUM=C3:C698".

Is there an easy way to transpose an entire sheet with lots of formulae?

Thanks,
Pete

Try this:
Select all the data (not the whole worksheet) and copy.

Go to a new worksheet and Paste, Transpose.

My experiments with small data ranges and simple formulae worked but I can't vouch for more complicated formulae being properly adjusted.

If you have more rows than there are columns in the worksheet, you won't be able to do this at all.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.

If that does not work for you, I suggest you upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and what your expected outcome would look like.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

newdoverman,

Thank you! I was trying to transpose the sheet, but it worked just fine just selecting the cells of interest.

Cheers,
Pete
