indirect for looking up cell references

Hello. I'm trying to use indirect function to reference cells in different worksheets. I used this formula but it's not working. Why? =INDIRECT(A2&"!D4") Also, can I reference the D4 from another cell? Like, if I put it in column two can I have the indirect function reference it?

No, that didn't work. This is what a reference to another sheet looks like without indirect formula. ='January 2014 v 2013'!C15
