Calculating most efficient purchase of timber length

Hi All

I have been tasked with trying to find a solution to the following for a friend at work whose hubby has a building company.
He wants to find the most efficient way of buying the correct lengths of timber for a build (less cut offs, less waste etc). The situation is as follows.

Timber Supplier has in stock (as an example)

Length (m) - Qty

2.7 - 15
2.9 - 20
3 - 40
3.3 - 20
4.1 - 17

Builder Requires
1.2 - 8
2.3 - 11
3.1 - 35
3.7 - 4
1.5 - 15

I'm trying to put together something where you pop in these lengths and the most efficient combo populates an order form. It's easy to sort out the ones where the lengths are an exact match or divide perfectly but i'm unsure how to go about the rest. Or i'm just overthinking it and confusing myself.
Any suggestions? Thanks!! Someone might be able to save my brain from exploding.
