    Update links message

Hello everyone, I hope someone can help with my problem.

Since I have put Data Validation on some cells looking at another (open) workbook, I am getting the message "This workbook contains links to other data sources". when I open the workbook. The data validation works correctly.

I have followed the help provided below but I still get this message "every" time I open the workbook.

    Excel Help

Control the startup prompt for updating all of the links

You can decide whether to update links automatically at startup or after startup.

Don't ask whether to update links when I open any workbook, and update links automatically

This option is for the current user only, and affects every workbook opened. Other users are not affected. This option also affects links to other programs.

1.Click the File tab, click Options, and then click the Advanced category.

2.Under When calculating this workbook, clear the Update links to other documents check box. If this check box is clear, the links are automatically updated, and no prompt is displayed.

    Any further advice,
    Tina

    Good afternoon TG58

Can't remember where it is in 2010, but I think it's Data > Connections > Edit Links.
What's in the box that comes up?

Also go to Formulas > Name Manager. What's in there? Anything you don't recognise?

    Thank you DominicB ,

It was Data > Connections > Edit Links in 2010 and that has solved my problem completly.
