The Excel figure which is fine on computer looks ugly on other compters, and vice cersa.

Figure 1 is the chart I created on my computer using Excel 2013. It is an"*.xlsb" file. However, it looks ugly on my colleague's computers (Figure 2).

And Excel charts (*.xlsb file too) created by my colleagues have bad looking when I open the excel file on my laptop. Why is that? Please help. Thanks a lot!

Have you tried reformatting the graphs opening on other computers? I would expect a consistent view after a save made on a different pc. Not sure why. But it might be your formatting as a generic. Once set specifically it should look consistent.

Sthlm, thanks a lot for your reply.

I suspected the formatting as well. But I didn't do anything on other people's file. When I open it, the looking changes even though the size of the font stays the same. I also did check the Excel Options and there is no difference from others.

You may be using different monitors (size/drivers/settings/etc) that could cause this - and could a few other setting options.

Try stretching/dragging the chart box to make it wider?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Thanks much for your reply. Actually, the laptops in our office are identical. So. I don't think the monitor matters.

Display settings are a user preference. So others might use the standard 120% (normal view), while you might have changed it too small (100%).

I tried 125% and 150% just now for the display. But it didn't help.

    More information here.

The chart is created by my colleague and moved to a new sheet through "Move Chart" command (Figure 3). The size of the chart on other laptops is 6.89" by 9.48" (Figure 4). However, it is automatically changed to 9.36" by 15.47" (Figure 5) when I open it on my laptop. Since the size values are in gray, I can't adjust them.

I believe this is the root cause. Any idea?

Moving a graph to a new sheet will make it use the whole page. Then things like showing the menu bar could influence the size. Even resizing the window would adjust the size of the graph. I would recommend if you move it, move it as an object in a different sheet.

OK. But, why does this issue happen on my laptop only? You know, Only I have problem to open all existing files in my company. I need to copy/paste those charts created by others to the reports. Without solutions to the root cause, it will kill me.

No problem. Thank much for your help. Maybe getting a new laptop is the best idea.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to change the default chart size (9.36" by 15.47") when I move it to a new sheet. If I can make it to 6.89" by 9.48", we done.

    Find the root cause, finally!

The page layout of the default printer we select matters Excel default page layout. My default printer was of 17x11. After I switched it to another printer with 8.5x11, the issue has gone.
