I want to use a pull down menu with data validation in a cell. However the data I wish to use is on another sheet within the same workbook. When I try and name the data source it will not allow me to click on another sheet to get that data.
I must be doing something wrong. The workbook is not protected.
Any help would be appreciated.

First name the data range for example "fruits"
The use this name in data validation, starting with "=" & then range name

If you are using 2011? then you should be able to do it this way...
1. click DV
2. select List
3. click the dropdown in Source
4. click the sheet you want and highlight the range
5. click OK
excel versions after 2007 can reference other sheets directly with DV
1. Use code tags for VBA. [code] Your Code [/code] (or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
