    Populating list based on criteria

    Hi,

I require some help/direction in regards to a formula.

I have a unique list on the sheet “Daily” column W which is the reference point for columns X and Y.

On the “Manual Journal Daily” sheet cell J7 it contains a drop down list giving the user the option to select the date.

What I would like in the yellow highlighted rows is when there is a date in J7 for it only to return data for this date. If it is blank then return all entries.

    Can anyone help please?

    I have uploaded an example.

Try this array formula. These are Array Formulas. They're a little different from ordinary formulas in that they MUST be confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER.

You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around the outside of your formula. If you do not CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will get an error message or an incorrect answer. Press F2 on that cell and try again.

Don't type the curly braces yourself - it won't work...
