Hello. I have a bunch of months/years as row values in a pivottable. It says can't group selection. Why is this? I made sure the formatting is date and it is.

I tried & was able to successfully group the date by Months, Quarters, Years.
Can you tell what steps are you following?

If the column with the dates in your source data for the Pivot Table has text cells, the dates cannot be grouped. Here is a reference on the subject:
