    Microsoft Excel certification training

    Hello, I am new to this forum. I was looking into acquiring some Microsoft certifications, particularly the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Expert, and would first like to look into some training. I have basic office excel experience, but obviously need to go above that and learn new skills. Do any of you have any ideas on good products for excel training? I have done some web research but have found numerous with a wide range of prices. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi dbragg and welcome to the forum,

    I'm pretty good with Excel but only know about 85% of what it does. I've been answering questions for about 5 years and it has helped me learn a lot of things I wouldn't have. I believe to learn Excel you need problems. You own the problem and then study to see if you can solve it. Then you see how others solved it and grow from there. There are youtube tutorials on most topics in Excel but knowing where to start is the problem. Start by taking a problem on this site and solving it. I think that would be a great way to train for becoming an Excel Expert.

    https://alison.com/courses/Microsoft-Excel-2010 I took a course here and you get a certificate to print, a printable badge with a QR code on it and printable transcripts as well. I used this as a pre-test before I go take the actual exam.

    The textbook for MOS training is pretty good. it covers a lot of the basic knowledge of Excel.
    However, the MOS exam is just a commercial training that can be passed as long as you pay. You even can get certificate without knowing how to use VLOOKUP.
