Excel for Mac 2011 "encountered a problem and needs to close"

I had an excel spreadsheet I have been working on for weeks. This morning I went to open it it and I get the error message:

The only thing that I had changed between "saves" is I used the "Camera" tool. Also, the spreadsheet was saved as "Excel 97-2004 (.xls)" a few days ago because when I used the "comment" feature, it wouldn't let me save it normally anymore. So, if anybody has suggestions, please please share them. I have googled this thing all morning and afternoon so far and I can't get anywhere. I have tried to change users, delete preferences, use safe boot...

What happens if you tick the 'Recover my Work...box' and continue?

If the data is not sensitive are you able to upload the file here so that we can review it.

If I do that, the microsoft office error reporting comes up and crashes.

Hi,

It opened OK for me, admittedly in Excel for Windows 2010. However I've saved it as a .xlsx file and re-attached here. Does that help at all?
