Conditional Formatting as a countdown timer

I found a thread with conditional formulas that should be exactly what I need (with the same title) but something isn't working. I have played with the date format and the formula and am stuck. Formula doesn't seem to be recognizing date. It is highlighting all cells Yellow.

Condition 1: Highlight cell (column B) yellow if date is within 4 months from today
Formatting Rule: Format only cells that contain / Cell Value / Less than or equal to / ="today()+120

Stop If True

Condition 2: Highlight cell (column B) red if date is past today.
Formatting Rule: Format only cells that contain / Cell Value / Less than / ="today()"

Hi Sassy13, you need to remove the quotes (") from the conditional formats, but in order for the red to work I had to change the yellow rule to:-
Format only cells that contain / Cell Value / Between / =today() / =today()+120

Thank you soooo much. Excel was throwing the (") on there so I thought excel was right. I had to go remove them after creating the formula. Thank you for the yellow correction as well!!!
