Inserting a Photo into a Protected Worksheet

    Hi,

This is my first post here. Hoping someone has a clever workaround to the issue I'm having. Here's a little background.

I recently started a new job with a Engineering consulting company. We have a group of technicians in the field who need to submit a daily field report (DFR) that provides information about the job they are working on. The DFRs are job specific, and can contain anywhere from 2 - 10 different reports. A worksheet is one report, and all the worksheets with one workbook = the DFR) Many of the reports contain formulas that do engineering number crunching on the data that the technician enters. Because we don't want those formulas manipulated or accidentally deleted, each worksheets within the workbook are protected.

    Here comes the trouble:

The last worksheet/report in each DFR contains a photo log where pictures should be uploaded to give visual site documentation for that day. We can't figure out a way to upload photos while the page is protected, so it is the one page in the DFR that is unprotected. While that worksheet doesn't contain formulas, the technicians find unique ways to screw up the formatting on that page every.single.day. Mainly because the photo they are uploading often is gigantic, and then they have to try to drag it down to size, and in doing so, they find unique and horrible ways to screw up the whole sheet.

Does anyone know a way to upload pictures to a protected worksheet?

    OR

Does anyone know a way to constrain photos being uploaded to a worksheet to a pre-determined size/space?

Hope I've explained the situation clearly, but would be happy to answer more questions. Looking forward to hearing your creative suggestions.

Try giving them a protected sheet in which all authorisations are disabled except "Edit objects". There's no way that I know of to constrain the size of the uploaded pictures, but this might help keeping the sheet clean. Depending on what the are screwing up and their creativity in it, of course.
    Cheers!
