How do I search a number range?

    Guys and Gals,

I have a spreadsheet and every day I enter in a field a range of numbers (G20=145-285). This has been going on for 5 years, so there is a lot of ranges.
How could I search through the list of data and find that point 170 is in G20? I'm even ok with typing the point range in different to have this result. I just need to be able to type in the beginning number and ending number, then have a result that will show me the row the point is located.

Thanks ahead of time for any help.

Attaching a sample workbook enables others to work on your problem:

To attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include BEFORE/AFTER sheets if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

Hi, if I understand well you have several ranges in column G
If column H and I are not empty add columns after G, copy column G to H, select H and excecute text to columns from Data card on a ribbon. Use "separated (not constant width) and in next step - as separator
now filter your data using numerical filters <=170 for column H and >=170 for column I
    Best Regards,

    Kaper

That was what I was looking for, thanks a bunch. This formula will come in handy so I will break it down so I can use it in the future.
