Download and Install Windows Common Controls-2 6.0

I am trying to add a calendar control to Excel 2013.

In this page I have followed a download link which says to save MSCOMCT2.CAB to C:\windows\SysWOW64

I have saved it to my desktop and then copied it to C:\windows\SysWOW64and when I double click on it I get 2 files (.inf and .ocx).

The instructions just say "after registering” (whatever that means) and not a lot more. I double click on the .ocx file, it asks where I want to "extract" the files to. I select the same folder, and a “save” window opens. I click on the save button but I get an error "access is denied"

I am new to this so I would need step-by-step instructions.
