    Charts to Ignore Certain Values

    Hi,

I have chart data with a list of names in column A and associated values in column B.

I have created standard pie and column charts to represent this data, with the names on the horizontal axis and the associated values on the vertical axis.

Can someone please tell me how to amend the charts so that names with “n/a” in column B are not included in the chart. Obviously I could change the chart range to ignore these names or delete such names, but I want to use the charts as a template in which the names with “n/a” values won’t always have “n/a” values.

    Thanks very much!

Using autofilter can be an easy way to accomplish this. https://support.office.com/en-US/Art...rs=en-US&ad=US When you deselect #N/A in a column, those rows where #N/A appears will be hidden, and your chart will usually "hide" those data points as well.

Another approach, which I am not familiar with, makes use of pivot tables and pivot charts. If this is the kind of something you do frequently, you probably should become familiar with pivot tables/charts, as I expect they will become a useful tool for you.
