Multiple Workbook Passwords

I want to create an excel file for every cost centre in my organisation
Each file will have a unique password that is known by the cost centre manager (and myself obviously)

My question is - can I have an additional password that only I know or a few people know that can open any of them?

So each file would have 2 passwords, where one is a 'master' password that opens all the files.

I have Excel 2007.

Many thanks
David

Re: Multiple Workbook Passwords

Thank you both for replying. Correct me if I am wrong - it seems that you cannot set multiple passwords to 'open' a spreadsheet, but rather you can write code to get the user to enter a password after opening the file and that VBA code dictates what they can access?
Do you know what happens if the user does not have macros enabled?

Re: Multiple Workbook Passwords

Could you just answer the question?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Re: Multiple Workbook Passwords

If you don't enable macros, then any VBA will not work in a spreadsheet.
