Tracked changes + Shared Worksheets

Hi All,

We have an issue at work with a network drive stored spreadsheet.

The sheet contains many formulas but no VBA and simply refuses to store tracked changes.

Due to workplace policies, we cannot change permissions or security on the network drive, but I can test things on the drive with a dummy worksheet containing the same information.

Has anyone else come across problems with Shares spreadsheets losing the tracked changes function?

Hi,

Check the user who is using the workbook has read and write rights.
If only read rights exists to the user he / she cannot make changes.
Note: Write access - can be restricted to dump the file in the server and copy from the server. But cannot allow you to modify the same in the server

thanks for the quick reply, all users with access to the containing folder have write access , no read access is granted to the folder

all or nothing really
