Unmerge cells but expand the data onto each row

Hi There,

I recently received a large amount of data in WORD! I've copied this across to excel, but there are a number of merged cells across a few rows which I need to delete. However each row needs to contain an entry of the data within the merged cell.

Is there a way to do this? I have hundreds of rows of data and so many merged cells it's untrue, so any way I can do this on mass would save me so much time!

Maybe using 'delimited' option will fix the problem. Is the data you want separated in the merged cell with a particular character? If you post a sample we may be able to assist more.

Also, sometimes try a different form of pasting. Instead of just pasting from Word, try pasting as 'unformatted'...sometimes it'll work better depending on which way you paste.

I often paste into Notepad before pasting into excel and it usually works better
