Need help excel data search

DEAR RESPECTED EXCEL MEMBER I WANT HELP FOR EXAMPLE : WE ARE PURCHASE ONE ITEM FOLLOWING UNIT PRICE 6.50 AND AFTER TWO THREE DAYS OR ONE WEEK AGAIN WE ARE PURCHASE SAME ITEM BUT PRICE IS DIFFRENT 6:90 OR 7:10 LIKE THAT WE ARE RECEIVING INVOICE FROM THE SUPPLIER......IAM MAKING THE PURCHASE ORDER AS PER INVOICE PRICE BUT I DONT KNOW LAST TIME WHICH PRICE WE ARE PUCHASE....SO FOR WHAT I MEAN TO SAY IN MY P.O FORMATE IS IT POSSIBLE IF I TYPE THE ITEM DESCRIPTION (pve flange 1" x sch80) OLD (previous)PRICE WILL DISPLAY LIKE THAT 6.50.....ECT

I am not an a PC with Excel currently but thought I would throw a question in here.

In the image shown, will you manually enter in what you paid every time you make a new order. Currently you have it on row 13 that they were 6.50 ea and then next time row 14 will show the new cost?
You will not need to use macros/buttons to perform searches you will likely be able to sort this out with vlookups and an additional helper column... I recommend adding a date column either to the left or even the right. You can utilize an index match to pull back the information your are looking for. And will this always be just for PVC flange 1 schedule 80 or will this have many items listed? perhaps fill it out a bit further with several example records (maybe your attached has this already) but with several records we can make further suggestions, my first would be to add a date of purchase to each record. From there it will become a little easier to make this document flow efficiently.

You can use simple "vlookup" formula for it.. have you tried ?

Vlookup will not work as you are entering last in at the bottom. If your newest record was ALWAYS at the top of your list you could rely on just a Vlookup, but you have no dates nor order to assure that you will not pull back the wrong information.

Vlookup based on the image would be

=IFERROR(VLookup(H12,C:F,4,False),0)

That will allow you to enter in an item and it will find the top record in your list... again if your data is sorted to have the NEWEST records at the top that would do, but based on your record number or S. No I am willing to bet that you will be entering these in under the last as they come in. So add a column to add a date and you will be able to do more OR use the formula I just put there and sort your S. No field Largest to Smallest every time you wish to see the last price.

Try this out. Select the product from the dropdown list in I8 and the price from Sheet 1 will populate J13.
