how to have a mirror image of another sheet?

I am a novice here and need help please!

i have a sheet called "case log" and i want to make another sheet called "case log for users" in where users can view the same exact stuff as on "case log" and they can also use the filters, an an example would be employee "Joe" can select his name from the existing filter and see his open cases. The reason for this is that the employees will be able to view these sheets from a main computer in the office and i dont want them to mess up whats on "case Log" but i want them to be able to view it and use the filters.

So, my idea is to make a mirror image of "case log" and call it "case log for users" and i will protect the "case log" sheet but allow access to "case log for users"

I dont know if it matters, but if it is a mirror image i am afraid that changes made on "case log for users" will show up on "case log" I want it to work one way only.

    Is this possible and how?

    thank you
    brian

Could you just save the WB as "case log for users" ?
So the "Case Log" WB does not get touched at all"

no, because i constantly make changes to case log and i want them to see the changes. that way i would have to update and save case log for users frequently

    thank you

I haven't done this in a long, long time but you could use a shared workbook and have the other users access it read-only.
There are problems with shared workbooks.
I don't recall what's involved in refreshing a open shared workbook

You are getting into an area that is better handled by databases where the tables of the database can be read-only for some users but read-write for others depending upon the tables being accessed.

I'll be kind and say that my limited experience with sharing in Excel was awkward with records being locked for use by one person at a time. This was quite a while ago so maybe things have improved....not betting on it.
