Challenge summing time (mm:ss) values?

Perhaps this will work, Try formatting the sum cell to [h]:mm:ss, this will allow the sum to go over 24 hours.

P.s. although I have 2007, you should find the cell format in the Format cells>Number>Custom range.

Your "time" is not a time in excel sense, but just text string which looks like time.
Pretty typical problem.
Suggested simple cure:

remember to use custom formatting for output (formula) cell as
[hh]:mm:ss
