Question Unable to run macros by clicking the object button

    Dear Excel experts,

I am using Excel-2007. I am facing an unexpected problem while trying to run a macro. I have simple macros to hide/unhide the sheets. Till yesterday, everything was running nicely. But today, i tried to run macros and found that the 'object' button is not responding.

However, same file is working nicely on other computer.

Macro setting is "Disable all macros with notification".

To resolve this problem I have reinstalled the Microsoft office Enterprise-2007 twice, my problem not resolved.

    Kindly help.

    Jay

    Want to share the file...

Sounds like your button does not have a Macro assigned anymore...except you say it works on a different PC... which would make me believe that the trust center has then disabled macros - and you have either not enabled or not been given a notification to enable... try enabling all macros and see if it runs...if that is the case there is an issue with your notifications (Google it if so for troubleshooting and screenshot guides)... if you still are stuck...if it is not sensitive data, share the book by going advanced. Click it or hit CTRL+X and then attach.

Re: Unable to run macros by clicking the object button

    Dear ELeGault

Thank you very much for the reply.

    >>> I have 'Enabled" the macro in "Option" appears when excel file open.
    >>> The macro is assigned to the object. I have confirmed it by using 'View Code'.
    >>> I am facing this problem for each and every excel file having macro/macro button.
    >>> I am unable to send / attach the fine as it is part of our internal documentation.

I tried every option given in the 'Excel Option" to enable /disable macro, I have used lowest option to run the macro. Unfortunately it won't work.

    Regards.

    Dear ELeGault,

I think the problem lies in to dao3032.dll file. The file is missing and 'Run-time Error '424' appearing. Can you guide me how to solve this problem.

    Dear Martin,

I have visited the link suggested by you. I did what explained, but it won't work. I have not found any *.exd file.

    Regards.

If you have an activex button, you should have at least one .exd file. Are you sure you looked in hidden folders? (Did you follow the instructions at the bottom about entering %temp% in the Run box?)
