    Dividing a number

    Hello everyone,

I have a list of numbers and I wanted the number to be divided. The division is tricky as the number must be divided first by 50 then 25, 10 and 5.
    For example: the number is 90. So I can get 1 of 50, 1 of 25, 1 of 10 and 1 of 5. If the number is 95, I can get 1 of 50, 1 of 25, and 2 of 10.

I hope this explains what I am looking for.

I am grateful for all the help I can get from you.

    Cheers,

    T

I'm afraid it doesn't. It looks like you don't want to divide a number but work out how many multiples of a list of values make up the number. Is that correct?

Try this approach with helper columns

    A
    B
    C
    D
    E
    F
    G
    H
    I
    1
    helper columns how many
    2
    number
    50
    25
    10
    5
    50
    25
    10
    5
    3
    95
    45
    20
    0
    0
    1
    1
    2
    0
    4
    90
    40
    15
    5
    0
    1
    1
    1
    1

Copy across to I3. Then copy down.

If that does not help, post a sample file and mock up your expected results manually, so we can see what you would like to achieve.
