    change times

    I want to be able to display a time entered into cell A1, in Cell A2, the format of cell A2 will be MM:SS.00 (example 01:24.67) however the times in cell A1 could come in as 2.45 (missing the ':') or may be entered in the correct format 2:45.00 I don't have control on the number entered, is there a way to convert whatever is entered into cell A1 into the format I require in A2 ?

    For the first concern; right click the cell, select Format Cells, select "Time" in the left column, then look for your exact format in the right hand window.

    For your second concern;
    Right click the cell you want the MM:SS format to appear (A2), select Format Cells, then select "Custom" on the left column, then look for the format you want on the right.

    try:

    =IF(A1>1,INT(A1)/24 + (A1-INT(A1))/14.4,A1)

    Hi Jim, that doesn't work I'm afraid, the time is treated as hours:Min:Sec and I need Min:Sec:Hundreths

    Hi Mehmetcik, I've tried this with the input being 2.45 (as 2.45 sec) the converted figure I require would be 00:02.45 your formula gives me 45:00.00 is there anther calculation needed to convert this ?
