change order of items on a list

I need to reverse the order of a list. Apple, Banana, Carrot, Date would create another list of reverse order. The list would have in it; Date, Carrot, Banana, Apple.

The length of these lists vary. Sometimes the list will have 3 items in it. Sometime the list will have 17 items in it. How do I write a program that will create this second list?
