Transfer random selected sample values to another column

I have data for 2000 vaules, I have assigned them random numbers and have to randomly generated 3 numbers between 40 and 100 and use the random number generated to make random sample sizes, I have randomly selected 3 number between 40 and 100, 55,58,64 (Random sample sizes) and give the first sample 55 values between 1 and 2000, second sample 58 values between 1 and 2000 and third sample 64 values between 1 and 2000, how do I select the first sample values from the data set without going to each random number and recording the value and so on?????? Please help as I am crying on the inside

If you put the data and a column of random numbers side by side, sort on the random number column, and pick as many items as you want off the top.
