Need help making excel dashboard available

    Hello,
I'm building an Excel dashboard of sorts. It doesn't yet pull data from anywhere but that will come later. It includes hidden sheets with a password to make them visible, some VB code, and some charts linked to a drop down. The problem I have is that my users only have the Excel viewer and when I send it to them, they cant view any of the pieces that make it meaningful. I thought of rewriting the whole thing in VB (though I'm not a programmer) but I don't have Visual Studio at work. I thought of importing it to Google docs but it doesn't support macro enabled sheets. I've hit a brick wall

Is there a way I can send it to them in another format (html or anything really) and keep all of the pieces that make it work? I need a solution outside of Excel for the viewers. Thanks in advance

This link leads to information on Excel Viewer showing what it can open and what it can and cannot do. http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/ex...010222173.aspx

I looked into Open Office Calc and VBA is not supported and there are numerous other incompatibilities.

I experimented with OneDrive and maybe the sharing there would be of some help. With my experiment, I sent a Word file to my wife's tablet and she could open it with what appeared to be an online version of Word. The same thing might be there for Excel. I didn't take it far enough to find out.

If you have OneDrive (its free) you could experiment by sending the file to yourself and see what you can do with it without opening Excel.

Thank you for the quick reply. I tried it with Dropbox which is similar to OneDrive. It didn't work. The users were able to view the sheet but all of the macros, VB, passwords, and even the charts tied to the drop down list didn't work. It's like they were viewing a picture. I have to assume that OneDrive works the same way. Im still stuck

I just ran a test on OneDrive with a file with macros and buttons to run the macros....no go.

I think that I "may" have found a solution for you. Supposedly, it is possible to create a standalone Excel Application out of your workbook...macros and all. Here is a link to the site. http://www.ehow.com/how_5911326_turn...plication.html
