if cell color is red, then fail, if not then pass. Any formula? VBA code

Looking at an excel formula or VBA code to look at the color of each cell in column C. If color is RED, then put Fail in Column D. If color is not RED, then put Pass in column D.
Please help. See attached file.

Your example doesnt contain any colours however to check the colour of a cell you reference the .Interior.ColorIndex

so a function to return the colour would be:
