    lookup to display multiple values

    Hello everyone and happy friday,

apologize in advance for confusing title.

i'm going to try to explain to the best of my knowledge.

in column A is a value and column B & C & D has a lookup formula to lookup the value in A.

for example, the value in row 1 might say 1111. so in another tab value 1111 is displayed 3 times, but all have a different value in the column over.

so i would like B to display one of the differences, and C and D and so fourth.

i don't want B-D to display the same lookup value.

if this makes no sense or is too confusing please let me know and i will try and explain further.

    Thank you in advance,
    Bryan N.

You will require a UDF for this. For a full explanation look at this link http://www.excelfox.com/forum/f12/vl...iple-values-4/

This is the one I use

Re: lookup to display multiple values

    Hi Alan,

thanks for your quick reply, can you explain further how to make this code work?
this is what i have done: i copied the whole code and pasted into the sheet and select "run". then prompts me to create a new macro, which i've done.

then i exit back to excel and nothing seems to have happened, even when i try to run the new macro.

    thanks,
    bryan

Re: lookup to display multiple values

How to install your new code
    1. Copy the Excel VBA code
    2. Select the workbook in which you want to store the Excel VBA code
    3. Press Alt+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor
    4. Choose Insert > Module
    5. Edit > Paste the macro into the module that appeared
    6. Close the VBEditor
    7. Save your workbook (Excel 2007+ select a macro-enabled file format, like *.xlsm)

This is a function. You will find it by opening the fx function address and running it exactly like a regular function.

It will be found under User Defined.
