Generating nested XML from XLS (office 2007)

Hey everyone,

I've been trying various methods to generate (export) an XML with the right tag strcuture based on the data I have in a spreadsheet. If anyone can provide some assistance on how to do this, I would greatly appreciate it. Currently, all I know is that excel will export the mapped columns PER row each column in it's own tag information. What I need is a bit different. It's best illustrated with an attached example. I'm attaching my sample spreadsheet data in .xls, and a sample output of the xml structure I'd like to export from Excel (using Office 2007 currently) in a zipped archive. Apologies ahead of time if I'm not articulating this as best as I should.

I downloaded your XLSX file and tried to save it as XML but got an error stating that there were no XML Mappings and wouldn't save.

Thanks for looking into it. The reason you are getting an error saving the .XLS file as an XML file is that I didn't map any of the columns. I have tried mapping and though I can map with the included .XML file opened (opened in the XML task pane), then copying the data over into the worksheet and when all the maps are complete, once I try to export, it gives an error indicating "Cannot save or export XML data. The XML maps in this workbook are not exportable." When I say "export" I'm using the XML section in the Developer Tab in Excel. Hope this clarifies things. Also, I can saved a mapped version of the XLS file if needed as well.
