Locking all but a few cells

Hi all,

I've selected the cells that I don't want to lock and I've unchecked the "locked" box in the protections tab. After locking the worksheet I am able to edit these cells, but the whole worksheet immediately becomes unprotected when I do edit one of these cells. I have code running to sort some of the protected cells, but I do have the sort box checked. Any idea what may be going on?

I apologize. I posted this a bit too soon and didn't realize how much the VBA code was interfering with this. I had actually posted a thread about this a very long time ago.
