    Filter Copy and Paste Problems

Hi all. So I have a table I've filtered by a value in Column I. I have then filtered those results by finding Blanks in Column F. I now want to take all the filtered values in Column G and copy them to the same cells in Column F. I can't get it to work to save my life, not even when copying the cells to a new sheet and coming back and pasting the values only. I have tried selecting "visible cells only", but that doesn't fix the problem. Any help is much appreciated. This is driving me insane and until I figure it out, I'm left copying and pasting each of the 1000+ values from Column G to Column F one-at-a-time. Needless to say, I'm dying. Thanks in advance! :D

for replying with attachment click on "Go Advanced" (in the bottom right)

in next page click on "Add File" (at right top side)

Re: Filter Copy and Paste Problems

Select Columns F & G, hit Ctrl+G > Special > Row Differences. In the formula bar for the first difference (let's say you want to copy G3 into F3), so in Cell F3, type "=G3". Then PRESS AND HOLD THE CONTROL KEY and THEN press Enter. That will reference the blank cells with the data in the non-blank row. Then copy Column F and paste as values. That will remove the formulas.

Re: Filter Copy and Paste Problems

    trying to reduce complication.

you can do exactly what you were doing.
    filter column F for blanks.
then use formula: in F3 type "=G3"
copy this cell and paste down. (because u are copying only one cell- formula will be pasted only on filtered cells)

After you are done, if you don't want formula to remain in Column F. Remember to copy full column and 'paste values'
