I am curious what kind of hardware is most beneficial to Excel (2010, 64 Bit). From what I read it can use up to 1024 threads? ()
Would running medium priced lots-of-cores AMD solution be better than a more expensive Core i7? Would there be much difference over the AMD Phenom II Quad (965BE, Overclocked to 4GHz) I currently use? If the 1024 threads thing is legit, is there a way to somehow use a cluster for Excel processing?? 1024 seems a little unrealistic for a single machine with today's technology (other than CUDA)
RAM isn't an issue in any of the machines I use (all have 8+, main has 20), but looking to increase calculation speed for when I need to throw in half a million IF/VLOOKUP/MATCH combinations...on moving data
...has anyone gotten CUDA to work with Excel? o.O
