Hello all,

So I understand that Excel doesn't have any fuzzy logic built in, but of course there are many 3rd party apps and VBA programs available for sale or trial (or even free, hopefully) that perform the fuzzy matching function well. For those of you who don't know what "fuzzy" matching refers to, its the ability to identify slightly different values as actually being the same, (e.g. "Doctor Harold Smith", "Dr. H Smith", and "Smith, Harold").

I was hoping to get feedback from others who have already used a fuzzy matching function on an excel worksheet to clean up their databases (eg contact lists, mailing lists, etc) and help with deduping. What such programs have you tried and found to be the best, and why?
