    Hello,

    Try this =A1&B1=C1&D1

Returned TRUE means they're the same, returned FALSE means they're not!
    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1

If you don't want to populate an extra column with a formula, you can achieve this with the help of condition formatting. Using the rule given below, you can highlight the rows where values in col. A and col. B are not equal to col. C and col. D. To do so, follow these steps.....

Select the range A2:D101 --> Conditional Formatting --> New Rule --> Use a formula to determine which cells to format --> in the formula box below "Format Value where this formula is true" --> Paste the formula given below --> Format --> Fill --> select the color of your choice --> OK

This will highlight the rows where values in col. A and B are not matching with values in col. C and D.

Is this what you are trying to achieve?
