removing " symbol from all the excel cells in my data

Hi,

does anyone know how to remove all the " symbol out of a string of data?

the " symbol appears at different places and i need to remove them all completely. the Find & Replace tool doesn't work because when you have say 3/4" and want it to just read 3/4 it automatically converts it to 03-Apr. even when you have changed the cell formatting to text.

i can post some of the data again if this helps?

Hi,

Try this:

First, enter a single apostrophe into a cell somewhere.
Copy that cell. Highlight the range for which you wish to perform the replacement.
Go to Paste Special/All/Add

Now re-peform your desired Find/Replace on those cells.

i think i may have been getting a bit ahead of myself there, i have seen that it has changed all 3/4" to 42463. and all 1/4" to 41730 and so on.

do you know what i am doing wrong here?

what would the formula be for column C? i have tried replacing B2 with C2 and it doesn't like that.

For Column C just replace B2 with C2. If the data is the same I don't see why there is a problem. If you do experience any issues please upload a spreadsheet.

Maybe because there was no formula to point to column C on your spreadsheet . I added formula in Column D to show the results from Column C.
