Dear User of Excel Forum
I hope you can help me in the following question:
If cell A1 depends on cell B1. so any change in cell B1 will cause an automatic change in cell A1.
I want to change the value of cell A1 but this change doesn't delete the formula. SO I need to override the formula already in cell A1 and simply plug in a number. Simply, overriding the calculationbut not changing/deleting/replacing it. I have thought of making my override from example in cell C1 and I would be a simple If statement: =if(C1<>0,C1,B1), but this will not work in my excel model.Formula:

So again, I want to make cell A1 2 layers. The first layer is the formula and the second is the ability to override the formula (make it stop calculating) but not deleting it.
So simply, I just need an idea to make a formula stop calculating if, in the same cell a number is plugged in but doesn't delete the already embedded formula.
Thank you,
Omar Fahmy
