date showing as (00/01/1900 12:00:00 AM)

    Dear all,

I am importing data from ODBC but some columns with dates are showing format 00/01/1900 12:00:00 AM
all the time, however other columns are showing the correct date.
i tried changing date and time format but nothing worked
Is there anyway to get the correct date as it is in the main database

    thanks for any help

I have had this happen when there was no date in the DB table.

Try setting the number format of the cell where the dates are imported to as text and not date or general.
    OR
Try importing the dates as text.

I'm not saying it will cure the problem but it has worked for me.

If it shows as 0 after you changed it there is no date in the table.

If it is a problem I would search the results for either the initialised date (00/01/1900 12:00:00 AM) or 0 and replace it with empty parenthesis ("").

Try changing the format manually by
    PHP Code:
    =TEXT(A1,"DD-MM-YYYY"
