I've a chart with 2 series.
I want the image of the second series comes in front of the column so that when the percent increases
in the first series, the image appears colored accordingly.
See attached file

as a matter of fact - you have just one series in attached file.
=SERIE(;;Sheet1!$M$10:$M$11;1)
Moreover graph type is stacked bar. the more appropriate would be just regular bar (not stacked).
And as I said - two series.
Then one series (bottle) shall be plotted on secondary axis.
Remember that the bottle shall be not just contour with transparent interior, but also white exterior between rectangle around and bottle itself.

let me show this file" attached" done by one brilliant in this forum!
the function is working very perfect and the gradient fill according to %
Only "one column" with the image in front of it
but really there is some problem with me, I could not understand how they overlap "the column and the image"
and where are the tow series?
I need your help!
Could you illustrate?
with best regards

here the result has been achieved even without secondary axis - just by manipulation of ovelapping. see series formatting (and note that there are two series)
I changed overlapping property from 100% used in above file to 50% - you will see better what I meant as a "not just contour with transparent interior, but also white exterior between rectangle around and bottle itself"
see picture here : http://www.projectwoman.com/uploaded...lap-743215.jpg
It is this point that needs clarification. As you manipulate overlapping the image moves away and the column appears. Now when I put my image it does not overlap with the column as seen with the example above. Is the problem with the image adjustment? and if so how can I fix it.
It is important application for me, and if you put it in steps it might be more clear and easy to absorb.
Sorry for inconvenience.
I am obliged

Still we need someone who can give me steps how to do it
thank you all
Right from the beginning.
1. Select the data (cells F6 and F7)
2. Click the Insert Tab and choose Column from the Charts
3. Two columns will appear. Select the tallest one by clicking on it so that only that series is selected. (first click selects both, second click selects the column clicked on)
4. Right click on the column selected and choose Format Data Point.
5. Click on Fill, Picture and choose the graphic.
6. Click on Series Options
7. Set Overlap to 100% Set Gap to 0

Those are the steps that I followed as I created the graph from scratch. The only thing that I can think of is that you didn't get step #3 to be just one data point selected. If both remain selected I think that you will end up with both data points side by side. Other than that, the only other possibility is that you really have 3 data points and not two...do you have a blank cell between your values?
I followed exactly yours step by step specially No 3
the outcome is totally different from that obtained in the file named "how" attached above.
There is something missing...!!!
Can you post your workbook as it is with the gap that you can't get rid of? I can't reproduce your problem.
I just replicated the filled bottle....again.
I started off with just the first value to be plotted and created a 1 column chart.
I then added the second value ( 100 ) and clicked on the graph to select it.
Next click on the Design tab and click on Select Data. Click Add and enter Series 2. In the Series Values field, delete the contents and click on the second value that you just added. Now you have 2 series.
Click on the second column (should be the tall one in your case) to select it then right click and click on Format Data Series. Click on Fill and click on Picture or Texture fill. Select the graphic.
Click on Series Options and move the overlap slider to 100% and the Gap Slider to 0%
The bottle should now be filled to the level of the first column. At least it did for me.
I don't know how I got away without creating the second series the first time but it did work....that's history.
Here is your first file with the bottle "filled".
You are such a patient and a generous man!
Words are not enough... but thank you very much!!!
One question just arose when I did my graph: when I add the value of 90% up to 99% the fill diminishes...why?
Please see attached file
The vertical axis must have fixed values for the minimum and maximum of 0 and 1. Your vertical axis values change and that affects your results.
