Freeze top row and first column

Hi all I know its a simple task. But it is not working for me. I need to freeze the first row and first column so my macro buttons are always visible when scrolling through the workbook. I have tried the freeze pane function in excel but for some reason it freezes more cells than I want. I have also tried using the freeze first column and first row but it will only do one or the other and not both.

    Please Help.

    Kind Regards

    Deano

Dunno if I'm missing something here but if you go to cell B2 and freeze pane you,ll lock the top row and leftmost column.
