    conditional formating

    Hey Guys,
    I need help to do below in excel. I want to check value of each cell in Column C againt whole of column A and color any cell in Column A which has a match.

    below example 111 (both), and 123 in column A should be colored. pls help. Thanks.

    Column A Column B Column C
    111 A 145
    123 B 111
    134 C 123
    111 D 100

    If you have values in col. A in the range A1:A10, select B1:B10, while B1 is still the active cell, make a New Rule for condition formatting and place the formula given below in the formula box and format as per your choice.

    Thanks sktneer for quick reply..
    And sorry for being dumb I am not an excel pro i am thnk I am not doing something right as I tried what u said.

    for my excel sheet
    Column C in example maps to Range U2:U1618

    Column A in example maps to Range B2: B32991

    Then the formula will be changed to ........

    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    Select the range U2:U1618 --> Conditional Formatting --> Make a New Rule --> in the formula box place the above formula and format as per your choice.
