Copy and paste locked cells, and have pasted cells retain LOCKED status.

I'm trying to find a way to protect certain cells on a worksheet, but to have users copy and paste those cells and for the pasted cells to retain their original "protected" status. I know that it seems counterintuitive to allow users to copy and paste on a PROTECTED workbook, but by the nature of the worksheet I'm doing, I need that capability.

    Regarding the attached file:
Yellow cells represent cells that the user will input information into, and will thus remain unlocked.
Green cell represent cells that need to remain locked, and that need to remain locked when copy and pasted into "lower" portions of the worksheet.

Anyone have ideas on how to configure protection options to allow this?

When you protect the sheet are you choosing the option to allow the user to select locked cells?

Yes. So I'm able to copy, however the only way I can paste is if I paste into an unprotected range. The problem with this is that when I paste the range of cells, ALL of the pasted cells are now unprotected.

    Hi,

In that case I suggest the only way is to write a small macro that will perform the task.
