Excel 2013 protected view has been uncheck box in Trust Center Setting but still working

Hi,

I have disabled excel 2013, protected view by clicking uncheck box

Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Protected View, and then uncheck Enabled Protected View for files originating from the Internet.

but when I open those files downloaded from my company system, the protected view still working, thus the file has opened as read only caused me have to click enable editing each time opening the file.


Then, I had also uncheck the rest of two condition > Enabled Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations > Enabled Protected View for outlook attachment. Unfortunately the protected view still working fine.


Can onyone help me to disable?

Hi Farid,

An Excel file usually opens in Protected View if excel thinks that the file is from an unsafe location.

To fix this issue, Repair the office installation AND install the latest office updates:
1. Go to the File tab (in Office)
2. Account
3. Update Options
4. Click Update Now.

This worked out for me perfectly.
