Desktop shortcut folder for excel only

We recently upgraded to office 2013 and windows 2013 and it is a royal pain. Anyways I created a desktop shortcut for my main folder. The problem is that when I open the sub folders it shows all excel and word documents. I want separate shortcuts for those two, one for all the excel files and one for all the word. Is there a way to do that. thank you.

    Try this:
Right-Click on the Desktop, New, select Shortcut, paste link below

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office

Click on Browse, select Microsoft Office folder and click on Microsoft Excel, click on Next, Finish
