Permutations and Combinations

Hi

I'm new to this forum but i'm having a problem with combinations. I have a spreadsheet that calculates nursery sessions for children.

In any 1 day (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri) a child can do 1 (AM or PM) or 2 (All Day) sessions and on any day they can be funded by the "3&4" Funding, they can have 3 free sessions before they get charged. I can work out the calculations if the week doesn't have a bank holiday monday.

I've managed to work out with a bit of help the different combinations of when a 1 or a 2 would appear on any day, there are 32 different combinations. This does mean i'll have to do 32 nested IF's unless there's a better way.

The problem i have now is that i need to work out every combination when a child receives the "3&4", this is further compounded when in the week i'm trying to figure out there is a bank holiday monday which affects the calculation.

I've tried to colour code the different combinations but i just can't work it out.

Even though there are 32 combinations of 1 or 2, i don't think i need that many for the "3&4", could someone please help me out.
