Coloring rows of cells based on certain cell values

I don't know if this is even possible. I have tried conditional formatting but I can't get it to do what I want.

I have a chart of medical claims. What I would like to happen automatically is that each row that has the same invoice number (COL I) would have the same color. When the invoice number changes then those rows would be colored differently. Ideally the colors would be alternating. When the rows are colored I would like the colors to remain there.
